Give me a straw for the Tuscan olive oil!

Mom said I looked drugged I looked so happy. Today we went out to the Tuscan countryside for our Italian cooking class, which was Trina's graduation gift to me. I'm sooo glad I graduated!! We started at an old villa where we toured and learned about the processing of olive oil and chianti wine. And then we got to taste it!!! Apparently, you have to have "connections" to get real Tuscan olive oil, because they just can't produce enough even to supply the Tuscan region. I wish I had connections!! Someone in our group was trying to figure out with all the thousands of hectares of olive trees, why there just isn't enough. Our guide says, "I think you just don't understand how much oil we use here." I definitely am Italian! Then we went to this country home where the new addition was 300 years old. We made pasta from scratch in a 1000 year old cellar. And then we ate. And drank! And we were all became great friends! A shout out to all my cooking (and strolling) buddies! Back in the city we spent 3 hours shopping our way back to the hotel, where we had a bottle of wine waiting. I think today redefined "delirious with happiness."
Yesterday we went to the Accademia and the Uffizi. By the end, my uffizi were killing me. Michelangelo's slaves were my favorite!! After seeing those and David, I almost shrug off every other incredible sculpture I see. The Uffizi was just breathtaking. Thank you Medici! We spent nearly 4 hours there. They had a special exhibit on Da Vinci that just blew my mind. In the evening, we went to an art class in a wine bar. I love our style!
