And now I'm in Budapest!

Honestly, it's getting hard for me to keep up with myself!! Budapest might be the most beautiful city I've been to yet. The architecture is stunning. It's not just one or two buildings. Every building is ornate and interesting. I've had about 12 embarrassing tripping incidents, because there is just so much to look at and I walk into things. And I really stick out because I just might be the tallest woman in Hungary.
I went to the citadel this morning and they had this amazing hidden museum (it wasn't mentioned in any of my guide books) that was a Nazi bunker in WWII. The devastation that Budapest suffered was incredible. It was much less polished than the War Rooms in London (Churchill's bunker from WWII), but I found it more raw and moving. In the afternoon I went to the National Museum and oogled the jewelry. They sure knew how to do gold!
Yesterday was sad: I had to say goodbye to Belgrade and Karen! It was kind of traumatic! There's just something about Belgrade. Molly did such a great job taking us around and showing us the sights. Not that there were many tourist sights. I didn't buy any postcards or souvineers of Belgrade only because I couldn't find anyone selling them!! I miss the food! It was everywhere! I miss the wine! We bought the most expensive bottle of wine at the fancy restaurant our last night and it was $12. I miss the people! They adored Americans. One night we went out and everyone from Molly's work showed up because they heard there would be Americans there. I miss the men! They wore capris and carried purses and had mullets and despite it all were some of the most attractive in the continent. And I miss Karen a lot. She's my travel soul sister! Plus she took the nail polish remover!
Trina comes in 3 days!!! I just looked at my watch and realized that she leaves the 29th and I squealed a little. The guy at the front desk must think I'm crazy. But then, he's been giggling to himself for the last 10 minutes, so who's the crazy one??? Probably still me.
